Winner

How it picks

When you press Spin, the winner is chosen first using crypto.getRandomValues, the same cryptographic random source browsers use for security. The wheel then animates to a random spot inside that entry’s slice, so the animation can’t be timed or nudged — every entry’s chance is exactly its share of the wheel.

Weights: add *2, *3 and so on after a name to give it a bigger slice and proportionally better odds. Alice*3 is three times as likely as an unweighted entry.

Your list is saved in this browser so it’s still there next time. Nothing is uploaded.

Questions

Is the wheel spinner really random?

Yes. The result comes from the browser’s cryptographically secure random number generator and is decided before the spin animation begins. Where the wheel starts, how long it spins and when you click have no effect on the odds.

How do I remove a name after it wins?

Choose “Remove & spin again” in the winner box, or tick “Remove the winner automatically” to take each winner off the list as soon as it’s picked — useful for drawing a running order or raffle places.

Can I give some entries better odds?

Yes, add a weight after an entry: Pizza*3 gets a slice three times as large as Tacos. Decimals such as *1.5 work too.

How many entries can the wheel hold?

Hundreds. Labels shrink as slices get thinner and are hidden on very thin slices, but every entry still has its slice and its fair chance.

Can I turn off the ticking sound or animation?

Use the Sound button to mute it. If your device is set to reduce motion, the wheel spins briefly and skips the confetti.
