Favicon Generator
Start from a logo, an emoji or one or two letters. See it at every size and in a browser tab, then download a ZIP with favicon.ico, the PNGs, an SVG and the web manifest. Your image stays in this browser.
What goes in the ZIP
favicon.ico holds 16, 32 and 48 px versions for browsers, bookmarks and Windows shortcuts. favicon.svg (letter and emoji modes) stays sharp at any size in modern browsers. apple-touch-icon.png is 180 px and fully opaque, because iOS fills transparent areas with black and rounds the corners itself. icon-192.png and icon-512.png are listed in site.webmanifest for Android home screens and installable web apps.
Upload the files to the root of your site and paste the snippet into your page’s <head>. Everything is drawn in your browser; your image isn’t uploaded.
Questions
What size should a favicon be?
Browsers use 16×16 and 32×32 in tabs and bookmarks (32 on high-density screens), Windows uses 48×48, iOS uses 180×180 and Android uses 192×192 and 512×512. This generator makes all of them from one source.
Do I still need favicon.ico?
It’s still the safest fallback: some browsers, RSS readers and tools request /favicon.ico directly. Modern browsers prefer the SVG or PNG links when they’re present.
Why does my favicon look blurry or empty at 16 px?
Fine detail disappears at 16 pixels. Use a bold letter, a simple symbol or a cropped part of your logo, reduce padding, and check the 16 px preview and the tab mock-up above before downloading.
Why isn’t my new favicon showing?
Browsers cache favicons aggressively. Hard-refresh the page, open it in a private window, or add a version query such as /favicon.ico?v=2 to the link tags.
Is my logo uploaded anywhere?
No. The image is drawn onto canvases in this tab and the ZIP is built locally.
