How it counts
Total days counts from the start date up to, but not including, the end date — the same way you’d count nights in a hotel. Tick “include the end date” if both the first and last days should count, as with a leave request or a contract term.
Years, months and days are counted on the calendar: whole months first, then the remaining days. When a month is shorter than the start day (say, from January 31), the anniversary falls on that month’s last day.
Business days are Monday to Friday. With the holiday option on, the 11 US federal holidays are skipped on the date they are observed: a holiday on Saturday is observed the Friday before, one on Sunday the Monday after. State holidays and company closures aren’t included.

How many days are between two dates?
Enter both dates and read “Total days”. It excludes the end date by default, so Monday to Friday of the same week is 4 days; tick “include the end date” to get 5.
How do I count business days between two dates?
The “Business days” figure counts weekdays in the range. Turn on “Skip US federal holidays” to also remove days like Thanksgiving and Christmas (as observed).
What date is 90 days from today?
The add/subtract panel starts with today plus 90 days. Change the numbers for any other offset, or switch to business days for deadlines that exclude weekends.
What happens when I add a month to January 31?
There is no February 31, so the result is the last day of February (28th, or 29th in a leap year). Adding a year to February 29 gives February 28 in a non-leap year.
Which US federal holidays are included?
New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Washington’s Birthday, Memorial Day, Juneteenth (from 2021), Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.
